Vice President Communications, Shell International
Simon leads a global Centre of Excellence that produces a broad range of communications materials to support Shell’s businesses around the world. The team is based in major hubs in London, The Hague, Houston, Doha and Beijing, with resources in several countries beyond this.
On the experiential side, the team produces a range of exhibitions and events. A highlight of the year is the staging of the Shell Eco-marathon (www.shell.com/ecomarathon), in which we challenge student teams from around the world to design, build and test ultra energy-efficient vehicles. There are annual events first in the Americas, Europe and Asia, the winners being the teams that go the furthest using the least amount of energy.
In visual communications, Simon leads the production of films, videos and photography. Examples of our videos are available on the Shell You Tube channel, www.youtube.com/Shell – take a look at the Shell TV playlist.
In addition, the team is responsible for design and digital communications; presentation materials for executive leaders; management of Shell’s internet websites and digital strategy; magazines and publications (including the company’s Annual Report); and translations.
Simon has a long background in marketing, branding, communications, strategy, and digital media. He has worked for Shell in the UK, the Netherlands and Japan.
