Caroline Jamet
Caroline Jamet has been Executive Director, Audio & Radio, French Services, CBC/Radio-Canada since November 2017. She has some twenty-five years’ experience as a senior executive with some of Canada’s leading media and cultural players.
At Gesca (publisher of the Montreal daily La Presse), she was Vice-President, Communications from 2000 to 2017. As President of its publishing division Les Éditions La Presse from 2011 to 2017, she oversaw publication of more than 200 books. She was also President of Les Éditions Gesca (the company’s magazine arm) from 2011 to 2014.
She played a key role in the expansion of Gesca (owner of 7 Canadian newspapers), especially during its change-over to digital. Among other achievements, she mapped out the communications strategies designed to ease readers’ and advertisers’ transition to La Presse+, the tablet-based digital edition of the newspaper.
Caroline was with the musical entertainment group l’Équipe Spectra from 1986 to 1999, serving as its Vice-President, Communications between 1992 and 1999; she was also a named partner in 1996. In those capacities, she earned acclaim for her major contributions to the growth and reputation of the Festival international de jazz de Montréal and FrancoFolies de Montréal brands, both nationally and internationally.
In 1999 and 2000, she was Vice-President, Communications of Motion International, a leading Canadian television and film production company, which evolved into Zone3 and TVA International.
