Claire Read

Claire Read is Long-form Audio Editor at The Economist. She produces multi-episode podcast series. She was part of the launch team for the paper’s new long-form audio offering. Their first series The Prince, on Xi Jinping, won a human rights award. She previously worked for BBC News as a field producer for radio and TV news, where she produced award-winning films in Yemen, as well as coverage of the ‘migrant crisis’ in Europe, the port blast in Beirut and the war in Afghanistan. She has presented BBC podcasts and radio documentaries on subjects as varied as Egypt’s political prisoners and British veterans of Afghanistan.
