Dr PRIYA CHADHA

Dr Priya Chadha is currently serving as Head of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at Goswami Ganesh Dutta Sanatan Dharma College, Panjab University. Dr. Chadha is also a vice president of the Public Relations Council of India, Chandigarh Chapter, and serves as the Chair of the Young Communicator Club under the Public Relations Council of India at GGDSD College.

Dr Chadha has demonstrated exceptional leadership and commitment to the field of mass communication and public relations. PRCI awarded Dr. Chadha the prestigious Chanakya Award for Excellence in Mass Communication at the 19th Global Communication Conclave in 2025. The club was awarded ‘Best Club’ by Gujarat’s Governor, Shri Acharya Devvrat, in 2024. YCC Club has launched a podcast in 2024 titled “Communicators’ Archive.”

Dr. Chadha has produced various documentaries and short films on social issues, which have won international and national acclaim. In 2025, she produced three documentaries on the environment and substance abuse that have garnered international acclaim at various international festivals, earning her felicitations from the Punjab Governor, Shri Gulab Chand Kataria, recently. The Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Shri Krishna Kumar Bedi, honored Dr. Chadha for exemplary service in journalism studies in 2025. The GISR Foundation has awarded her the title of Gems of Society for her accomplished academic and media career in 2024. Dr Priya Chadha shared her expertise and research findings at conferences held at the University of Oxford in 2015 and Harvard in 2016. Dr Chadha has received the Adarsh Vidhya Saraswati Rashtriya Puraskarin 2018 and the Best Paper Presenter Award at the International Conference in Dubai 2019 and received the Excellent Paper Award titled ‘ A Study on Changing Communication Technology and Adolescents’ Well-Being’ at an International Conference held in Kandy, Sri Lanka. besides publishing her research work in reputed journals.
