Lucio Mesquita is Director of
BBC Monitoring, the BBC’s unit responsible for the monitoring of global open source content ranging from television and print to digital and social media. Before joining BBC Monitoring in May 2014, Lucio was responsible for the BBC’s regional tv and radio operations in the West of England, based in Bristol. His earlier career at the BBC included the running of BBC World Service’s Americas and Europe region, the Brazilian Service and producer/editor roles with BBCWS News & Current Affairs output including Newshour and World Update. Before joining the BBC in 1991, Lucio worked as a broadcast journalist in Brazil, where he was born.
