Moera Tuilaepa-Taylor

I have always been fascinated by current events and contemporary news stories, which is why I became a journalist. However, from early on in my media career I noticed, and became dissatisfied with, how few Pacific voices were telling those stories; especially the stories that concern Pacific Peoples the most. So I made it my aim to become one of those voices.

Radio, as the key carrier of news in the Pacific Region, has always been my passion.  During my time at Radio New Zealand I have filled a variety of roles, from production, news gathering, editing and presenting.  Several years ago I took over the leadership of RNZ Pacific; which has allowed me to further pursue my passion for promoting Pacific stories and developing Pacific talent. I am proud that in that time I have been able to help a number of up-and-coming Pacific journalists add their own voices to the mosaic of news media.

Outside of my work, I love spending time with my husband and our dog, and several charities that I help support.
