Pascal Seynhaeve

Pascal Seynhaeve (50) is editor in chief of PANO, the investigative journalism brand of VRT NWS, focusing on linear reports and online investigative content.

He worked as a television journalist for more than a decade. He loves journalism that can make a difference around the world, starting with strong research combined with compelling storytelling. He is also a father of two adolescents, and is passionate about classical music, tennis, surfing, and chess.

From 2010, he is responsible as editor in chief for several current-affairs magazines for VRT, The Flemish Public Broadcasting Company. In 2016, he co-founded the magazine PANO.

PANO has been front-page news on several occasions, including the report on the political impact of the far-right student group Schild & Vrienden and on the role of Melikan Kucam, a politician who got paid to grant humanitarian visas to Syrian Christians, who feared for their lives in ISIS times.

Strong human stories are still the PANO foundation, embedded in (data)-research with cross-border relevance.

Journalistic impact is always the main goal, denouncing abuses and offering solutions to social problems.

PANO has won the Belfius Press Prize, the most important Belgian press prize, 5 times in a row (2017-2022). PANO also won the AIB-award in 2020 in the category Human Interest and in 2015 in the category Domestic Investigative for the documentary The Price of Cheap Food.

The magazine has also been nominated several times for the prestigious Prix Europa press price.
