Saadatu Albashir

Saadatu Albashir is a Nigerian broadcast journalist with over 19 years of experience cutting across radio, television, and now new media.

After obtaining an education in Mass Communication from the University of Jos in Nigeria, she proceeded on a journalism career that saw her work as a reporter, producer and presenter at DITV Kaduna, one of the first privately owned media in northern Nigeria.

Saadatu freelanced with several independent media organisations before joining Radio Nigeria in 2001.

She won several awards and training opportunities following a 5-year coverage of violent ethno-religious crisis in Plateau State, North Central Nigeria.

With a certificate in internet for journalism, from the Radio Netherlands Training Institute, in the Netherlands, Saadatu pioneered the setting up of Radio Nigeria’s website and has been one of the content editors for the past 5 years, with specialty in CMS and SEO.

Saadatu volunteers with NGOs that offer life-skills training for abandoned children in parts of Northern Nigeria.
