- Clearest coverage of a single news event.
- Best international current affairs documentary.
- Best domestic current affairs documentary.
- Best investigative documentary
- Best children’s factual programme/series
- Best science programme or scientific coverage
- Best specialist genre programme or series
- Best live sports coverage
- Best short documentary or report
- Best Coverage of London 2012 – note that this category only has a late entry deadline of September 20th. All other categories close on July 2nd 2012.
Radio Productions 4 categories
- Best creative feature
- Best current affairs documentary
- Best investigative documentary
- Clearest news coverage of a single event
On Air Talent – Radio and TV – 2 categories
- International TV personality of the year – category partner is RTG TV
- International Radio personality of the year
Technology – Single Category
- Most innovative production technology – category partner is Eurosport
Transmedia – Single Category
What has changed from previous years?
This year, in addition to our regular awards covering radio and television current affairs, documentaries, investigative journalism, children’s programmes, science, sports technology and marketing, we are proud to announce two new awards which reflect the changing face of broadcast journalism:
- Best short documentary, feature or report which highlights the increasing production and consumption of top-quality short programmes from a range of new and existing content producers
- Best coverage of London 2012 which looks forward to the coverage of the Olympic Games which promise to break new ground in terms of 3D production and use of social media and second screens
Entries for the 2012 AIBs closes at 16hr GMT on Monday July 2nd 2012.
An independent panel of highly respected media professionals from Africa, America, Asia, Australasia, Europe and the Middle East will judge the shortlisted entries in each category. The Awards will then be presented in London on 7th November at a gala evening attended by presenters, editors, journalists, marketers, technologists and executives from media companies all over the world.
