Judging

The AIB is honoured that every year leading figures across TV, radio, digital and print media agree to judge our international competition. the AIBs.

We work to ensure that our panel is truly international. We are fortunate that media leaders, journalists, editors, producers and industry observers from every continent join our panel.

This truly global perspective ensures that the AIBs are judged from people who have a range and depth of experience.

How judging works

Judging takes place during September and October. All judging is carried out using our online platform, so no travel is needed.

Your commitment amounts to just a few hours of evaluating the shortlisted entries in no more than two categories.

You then bring your experience to bear as you decide who and what’s best, looking at elements such as research, story-telling and production values.

All judging is done in the English language, whatever the language of the original production. We ask for English-language subtitles for all TV and video programmes that are not in English. For radio and audio programmes not in English, there will be an English-language transcript.

We credit our judges throughout the nine months from the launch of the awards until the end of the year. There will be profiles of our judges on our web pages and comprehensive listings in the winners’ book.
